Optional Information

Year : 1996
Make : Chevrolet
Model : suburban
Engine : 5.7

Already Tried:
i have replaced the starter, flywheel and even pulled the motor and had the crack welded to see if it would hold. (NOT) fixed the fuel leak that caused the bad flywheel on a kick back which broke the starter houseing.

Do you have the holes drilled in the block for the side by side mounting?

Check out this link. I believe that this starter will work for your application...

I have had to do the same thing in the past but can not for the life of me remember what year starter I used...I do know that it was a starter for a caprice...

so will there be a differnce in the gear meshing. the engines are the same one piece seal correct and only 2 wires are used. i couldn't see the back side of the stater

I believe that this starter will be a direct replacement to the one that you have now except that the bolts are side by side and the solenoid may be offset slightly...

What I recommend is going right to your local parts store with your starter in hand and comparing the nose of the starters, this will determine the gear mesch.

You'll find that most of the chevy starters are the same other than solenoid offset and bolt pattern...Thats why the race guys love chevy 350's...

Thanks, Josh
