Don't worry. I will continue to help.

Is your model is 9410 or 9410Z? If you are not sure, check any label on the bottom regarding the model number, check to see whether what is labeled? 9410 or 9410Z

It is a 9410z but it has a 945 chipset not the chipset that acer posts on its site for the 9410z

Accepted Answer

Hello,

That is strange. 9410Z has 943 chipset and that is why it only support max 2GB memory. Are you sure the 9410Z that you own has 945 chipset? If yes, then you have point. 945 chipset will support 4 GB memory. It is just weired since 9410z only support 2GB memory according to Acer user guide.

Since your bios only detect 2 GB memory, and your version is 1.16. There could be option to upgrade to 1.24. Flashing bios need to be very careful.

Also keep in mind, for 32-bit operating system, what ever vista or windows 7, only support 4 GB. And the actuall showed memory is about 3.2 to 3.5 GB.
