Answer: One can always sue; the question is, can you win? Medical malpractice cases are extremely hard to win, and very expensive. This makes it hard to find an attorney to take the case. The question will be whether or not the hospital followed medical standards of care and diagnosis, and whether or not they coerced you into the operation.
You can find trial attorneys through here: http://www.oajustice.org/OH/index.cfm?event=showPage&pg=chooseLawyer
Another place is the bar association's website: http://www.ohiobar.org/Pages/Public.aspx
Don't actually HIRE an attorney without first checking references. And don't try to pick the attorney's brain on the phone. Schedule an appointment and visit the office, like you would for a doctor! You'll want to talk with several before deciding who to hire. Interview the person as you would any other expensive employee. Successful experience? References? Years in practice? Back up attorneys to take over if he or she goes on vacation? Adequate staff to handle a lot of work? Willing to give you a time line and commit to sticking to it (other than by delays caused by the "other side."

There can sometimes be a delay of an hour or more in between my followup answers because I may be helping other customers, or taking a break. If we're writing late in the evening, I may need to get some sleep and resume helping you the following morning.
Sometimes I'm unable to read your entire question until AFTER I write back to you. So, if I suggest something you already tried, it's because I couldn't see part of your original question. Just write back to me and let me know.
