Question

Transfer joint tenant property to an LLC in California. Can I transfer a joint tenant property to a LLC? I purchased a property with a business partner last month with cash. We want to setup a LLC. How much do it cost to transfer the property to the LLC? I understand the LLC annaul fee in California is $800. Can quit claim deed be used for joint tenant property?

you can do a simple deed transfer using a quit claim deed to the llc. A quit claim deed is found at the following website. Deeds must be notarized and "recorded" (filed) with the local county recorder, along with a Preliminary Change of Ownership form, to be fully effective.
