yes. it is very possible for a court to give you a deferred sentence. this means, that if you complete any probation and maintain the conditions without incident, you would be eligible to have the matter expunged. that means, once everything is complete and you would go back into court to have the judge agree you successfully completed probation, you would need to file to have the record removed. it does not just disappear.
you can try to strike such a deal with the prosecutor yourself - but it is best for you to contact the public defender's office in your county and seek that assistance. if you are not employed, you should be eligible for those services - unless you have assets that can be convert and then a court may require you hire a private attorney.
