Question

I am at wits end. I have a Dell E310 running Windows XP, IE8. I have attempted to download FLASHPLAYER about 50 times. I have tried everything suggested and some that haven't been. As soon as I click download, IE locks up and I have to close it. Can you set me right so I can get this downloaded? I'd appreciate it.

Yes, version 9x was installed and working. One of the suggestions was to uninstall obsolete versions so I did, and none is currently on the machine. I am an ATT customer, so I also tried their browser with the same results. Thanks Andy.

SUCCESSFUL: MSG "FLASHPLAYER V10.0.3.18 successfully downloaded" displayed. I've lost my GOOGLE toolbar and I suppose I will have to try to remember what other stuff I had that has been wiped out, but at least this nut has been cracked. Can you give me a clue about what was wrong so I don't hose it up again? Incidentally, I was attempting the download from the ADOBE website each time. I was a mainframe programmer for 25 years, IBM IMS, CICS, COBOL but this point and click stuff absolutely baffles me. I appreciate your help. IF you'll just take a moment to respond to this, I will gladly ACCEPT, well worth the cost to me.
