Question
I feel like my boss in harassing me. She moved me from my work location to another after 6 years at the same location. The new location is a farther drive for me and the new location is smaller. The new location also has many minorities which is what I am. Her reasoning was very weak. She pointed out little things as the reasons for the move. The same things other employees do and she does nothing about it. I tried to talk to her and now she is threatening to write me up for speaking to her about it. I am afraid to talk to my HR dept about this for fear of retaliation from my manager. What should I do?

Answer
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects individuals against employment discrimination on the bases of race, gender, age, nationality or religion. It applies to employers with 15 or more employees.
Proving it is done by looking at pattern of conduct, document, witness statements, how other employees are treated, and the credibility of the employer and the complainant.

Yes, I am aware of Title VII. Can you explain more on why you think I should file?
Accepted Answer
The claim can and should be pursued if your are being treated worse because of your age or your race. Lack of promotion, harassment, disparity in pay are examples of this kind of harassment and comments based on those categories also create a hostile work environment that the eeoc would review.
