Question

recently cat food companies have brought out cat food that they say is the real thing, no fillers etc. In particular there is one out called appetizers and claims it is real tuna. If this is real tuna, can my cat eat the tuna i eat ex: light tuna in water? The raason I am asking is that my previous cat got very sick and i was told by the vet that it was because i was feeding him tuna fish. Please let me know if it OK or not feeding my cat tuna. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Accepted Answer

I may be overly cautious, but I do not recommend feeding tuna on a regular basis. White tuna contains more mercury than light tuna. With mercury toxicity we can see kidney deterioration, loss of feeling, motor difficulties, and loss of sight and hearing.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions. If you are satisfied with my answer, please hit the green accept button. Positive feedback is always appreciated. Thanks!
