Accepted Answer

Hello there,

Acyclovir is an anti-viral. Abscesses require antibiotics. The wound can be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide and then rinsed and dried. The Neosporin or bacitracin can then be applied. This should be done 3-4 times a day. The if the wound still doesn't heal, the cat will need antibiotics. If the cat cannot take oral antibiotics, she will need injectable ones.
