Hello, my name is Mike and welcome to JA.
You may have a battery failure, or possibly the connection was interrupted when you first attempted to start the car and it did not continue to charge. If you have not tried already, hook up a battery charger instead of trying to jump start, and make sure you get a really good connection.
When a battery sits without charge, it is very hard on the battery and failure is frequent. If the battery does not respond, you will need to remove it and take it for better testing if you are not equipped. Most stores now give a core credit, so if you need a new battery you will already have the old one there.
If the battery ends up testing good, and you are still having this problem, then you may have a main junction fuse that has opened up. You will need to access the electrical center and check them all.
Thank you,
Mike
Hello.
Depending on the charger, it can take 12 to 24 hours to fully charge a dead battery. A high power professional type charger is capable of charging it in a few hours, but it needs monitoring because high amp charging can create heat.
If you have a charger that can charge at 3 to 5 amps, it will be done by tomorrow morning.
