I have received an insurance check for damage to my home, AM I required to replace and correct everything damaged back to previous condition? or can I change repairs, or not repair sections as I desire..

Answer

Typically, you would be required to make the repairs as indicated in the estimate. To be sure that this occurs, these checks normally require the endorsement of your mortgage lender. The lender has an interest in making sure the home is repaired properly and may follow-up to ensure the repairs were completed.

Would it be insurance fraud to change anything from the quote?

Fraud requires intent. If you intentionally submit altered documentation, then that could be a fraudulent act.
