Question
My daughter had been prescribed clonazapam for approximately two years when she found out she was pregnant. Her ob-gyn immediately stopped her from taking the clonazapam cold. She developed tics and jerks and had some seizure like episodes. After the baby was born she spent time in a mental health facility. We had an eeg done to see if she has epilepsy (her brother does. This came back with no sign of seizures. She still has the jerks and tics. Do we have a case against her ob-gyn?

I don't think you have a case. The doctor had the right to suggest a course of action which would result in the least harm to both the child and parent. What you really want to know is, was there medical malpractice? That depends upon whether the OBGYN violated the "standard of care in the community". To find that out, a medical expert has to review her files. To get that done for free, you need to consult a personal injury lawyer in her area. Good luck.
