    2. Tighten to 7.2 - 10.8 Nm { 73 - 110 kgf.cm, 64 - 96 in.lbf }
    3. Tighten to 1 - 2 Nm { 10 - 20 kgf.cm, 9 - 18 in.lbf }
    4. Tighten to 2 - 3 Nm { 20 - 31 kgf.cm, 18 - 26 in.lbf)

Removal Note

  1. Remove the steering column.

  1. Remove the screws (1) and position the parking brake release handle (2) aside.

  1. Disconnect the brake pedal position (BPP) switch connector.

  1. If equipped, disconnect the clutch pedal position (CPP) switch connector.
  2. Remove the right hand and left hand scuff plates.
  3. Remove both A-pillar trim panels.
  4. Remove both front side trim panels.
  5. Remove the instrument panel fuse panel opening door.
  6. From inside the engine compartment, disconnect the engine compartment fuse box from the bracket and position aside.

  1. Remove the bulkhead wiring harness from inside the engine compartment.

  1. Remove the bulkhead connector insulator.

  1. Unclip the bulkhead connectors from the dash panel.
  2. Remove the instrument panel valance panel.
  3. Release the airbag diagnostic monitor locking tab (1).

  1. Disconnect the airbag diagnostic monitor connector (2).
  2. Remove the passenger-side air bag module.

  1. Disconnect the blend doer actuator connector

  1. Disconnect the climate control vacuum harness connector.

  1. Disconnect the radio antenna cable in-line connector.
  2. Raise and secure the glove compartment.
    • Press the release tabs inward while raising the glove compartment.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors and the ground wires on the right hand cowl panel.

  1. Remove the instrument panel brace bolt under the steering column.

  1. Remove the right hand instrument panel cowl side bolt.

  1. Remove the left hand instrument panel cowl side bolts.
  2. Position the instrument panel away from the dash panel.

  1. Disconnect the instrument panel to main harness. NOTE: Two technicians are required to perform this step.
  2. Remove the instrument panel.
    • If necessary, transfer the components to the new instrument panel.

Installation Note

NOTE: Two technicians are required to perform this step.

  1. Position the instrument panel.
  2. Connect the instrument panel to main harness.
  3. Align and install the instrument panel.
  4. Install the left hand instrument panel cowl side bolts.
  5. Install the right hand instrument panel cowl side bolt.
  6. Install the instrument panel brace bolt.
  7. Connect the electrical connectors and the ground wires on the right hand cowl panel.
  8. Lower the glove compartment.
    • Press the glove compartment release tabs inward while pulling downward on the glove compartment.
  1. Connect the radio antenna cable in-line connector.
  2. Connect the climate control vacuum harness connector.
  3. Connect the blend door actuator connector.
  4. Install the passenger-side air bag module.
  5. Connect the airbag diagnostic monitor connector.
  6. Install the instrument panel valance panel.
  7. Position the bulkhead connector handle.
  8. Connect the brake pedal position (BPP) switch connector.
  9. Connect the clutch pedal position (CPP) switch connector.
  10. Install the bulkhead connector insulator.
  11. Install the bulkhead wiring harness connectors.
  12. Install the engine compartment fuse box onto the bracket.
  13. Install both front side trim panels.
  14. Install both A-pillar trim panels.
  15. Install the right hand and left hand scuff plates.
  16. Install the instrument panel fuse panel opening door.
  17. Install the parking brake release handle.
  18. Install the steering column.
