Accepted Answer

First of all has any one checked fuel pressure(lowered or loss of fuel pressure can be a cause) pos pluging filter(if applyable) or pump/Also the cat converter may be coming apart insire and a large chunk can restrict the flow causing loss of power, then by turning off the vehicle the exhaust pressure is removed and the restriction drops down alowing the exhaust to flow properly again. The by pass in the fuel pump can cause temperary loss of fuel pressure
