Question

I have a 2001 volkswagen passat with a v6 enging and an automatic transmission and i cant find the dipstick to check my transmission fluid i have looked everywhere under the hood and all i find is the dipstick for the engine oil. Does anyone know where this might be.

Answer

Remove the plug, #1, in the bottom of the oil pan and see if any fluid comes out. If it does then it is full. If it does not come out then you need to add some. The transmission fluid temp needs to be at 95-113 degrees. If you need to add fluid do it in the tube, #3 in the picture.

So the plug is under the car where exactly is the filler tube located

Under the car. It comes out of the oil pan as shown. There is no dipstick.
