Optional Information

State/Country relating to Question: Michigan

Already Tried:
Dad already spent half of all his money for my mom's care. She is on medicaid.

Accepted Answer

You are a little vague on facts here, but I am assuming you are managing dads money to assist with his care. If that is the case, you cannot give your children wedding presents from the source of funds in order to "save" some of the money you see disappearing. It's you father's money and it should got to his care. Any use of it that benefits you and your family would constitute fraud and possibly criminal financial abuse of an elder.

Plus, medicaid will expect him to spend this down before they will provide him with full support. Any transfers that defeat this are fraudulent.

Be careful here.
