Hello !!

- When monitor screen goes off, does the LED n Fan on back of tower turns off and does the computer shuts down ?

- Does the screen goes off totally black or can you see some message on it.

- Does the screen comes back if you hit any key on keyboard ?

- Remove the data cable from the monitor and only provide it power. Observe the screen and the LED. Now plug back the cable. What did you see on screen and what about its LED.

Answer

Hello !!

In that case this looks like a malfunctioning IC (chip) on the main board of your monitor.

Something is heating up the display IC and so it shuts down the display to save it from burning. Your monitor needs to be repaired and if not in warranty you should take it to local repair shops only. Dell will be too expensive.

In rare cases it can happen because of a loose / bad data cable that connects monitor to tower. Or even the motherboard of tower can have problem, but its rare.

So, the best way to go about it is to plug in another monitor (borrow from a friend) to your tower. If that monitor works fine, than you know that the motherboard is fine. And problem is either in the data cable or the monitor is bad. Then replace the cable to confirm the issue.
