My 99 Chevy Tahoe is starting to have electrical problems. When i try to start it once in awaile i here clicking noice under the dash and there is no power etc. doam lights, fuel pump, dash warning lights, radio etc. It has started stalling when driving. Whould you have any ideas where i should start looking? Darryl,

Hi, It sounds to me like you need to replace the ignition switch. The loss of electrical and dying is a classic symptom of a faulty ignition switch. The contacts inside wear and then the contacts lose contact electrically and cause the problem.

I thought last week it was the ignition switch but last night i unlocked my doors with the keyless remote and the doam lights where at half power. I turned on the ignition and they where bright again. Do you think it is still the ignition switch? I was also checking for loose grounds.

Yes I think so. Like I was saying those contacts get worn and it can cause certain functions to work or not work. I see this quite a bit. I think if you replace it you'll be good to go again.
