on the screen where is you must click your user and enter the password, hit CTRL+Alt+DEL twice and you will see a box to type in a username. In the username field, type administrator, and leave the password field empty and log in and see if that works.

Try and log on to the computer using safe mode. To access safe mode, restart your computer, and as soon as the computer comes back on from shutting down, continually press the F8 key until an option menu pops up. Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select safe mode.
Log on to the computer using the administrator account again, then follow these instructions for setting a password for this account and again for your regular user account.
It appears that whatever update installed on the computer is conflicting with your configuration. You will have to repair your operating system. Here are instructions for repairing your OS.
It was probably preloaded, but you should have still received your xp disc. If you can't find it, you need to contact the computer company ie. Dell, HP, etc. and get another one.
