Question

My pulse in my neck has recently begun to visually throb. There is no pain or anything else involved but it is visually alarming and I was wondering if it is a matter of concern?

Greetings.

When did you notice it?

Is the throb visible in rest or on exercises?

Is there any recent weight loss?

I noticed it almost one month ago. It is visible directly below my jaw on the left side during rest. And there is no recent weight loss.

Accepted Answer

Hello,

This visible throb does not usually signify any disease process like aneurysm and can be unassociated with any disease process. Though a palpation by your physician and a colored doppler study may be contemplated to be sure that everything is normal. In all likelihood this is not worrisome.
