Question

I have had a sore lump just above the waisteline (in the middle ) for a few years now and I feel it is getting sorer and it has grown as well??? I had tests and the doctor said it was a fatty cyst...but should it be sore?

Did the doctor say it to be lipoma?

Were any investigations like ultrasound done?

yes I had a ultrasound and they thought they might take a sample by needle but the doctor said it was just a fatty cyst and that no sample was need

Hello,

 

The fatty cysts can get sore and tender, but these symptoms do not point to any conversion of them from benign nature. Ultrasound is a very good investigative modality to ascertain/confirm the nature of the lump. So there is no worry. But if you are anxious, you may either get a fine needle aspiration cytology or contact a general surgeon to get it excised.
