i have a nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 430 and the monitor will go black i can take the cable off from computer and reattach it and the monitor will come back on for about 10 seconds and then it goes black again. it is not the monitor or cable i put other pc to it and it works fine so is this the video card problem

What version of Windows are you running?

And is it 32bit or 64bit Windows?

i have a 32bit system vista monitor came back on but there was a popping sound in the pc when the screen returned from the black screen

Sound lilke the Video Card is bad.

If you have another Video Card you could try another one.

I was going to suggest a new driver.

This would not help if it is failing.
