Hello!
I have received your question regarding your laptop screen.
I need some additional information to further help you.
I want to clarify the part that is actually broken on the laptop. Is it the plastic bezel that surrounds the display? Or is it the actually the screen itself that is damaged?
Thank you!
Thank you for your patience on this issue.
Since LG laptops are not very common I was unable to locate any vendors that carry this as a spare part.
I was able to contact LG support directly regarding the problem. They are able to re-sell you the parts / plastics needed to make the repair.
The number they provided was:
1-800-243-0000, option 1,1, then 5 and have the agent transfer you to Ext. 6111
I hope this answers your question on where to obtain replacement parts.

I've never seen that happen when a hinge is too tight on a laptop, to the point where it would break the plastic. Typically the hinges are tight, and will eventually loosen a little bit over time. This is part of the reason they are very tight to begin with, otherwise the laptop wouldn't stay open over time as the hinge quality started to degrade.
Although I have not worked hands on with the LG laptops, I'm wondering if the plastic in that area is too thin, or not strong enough to withstand regular use of opening and closing the unit.
If the unit is new enough and still covered by the LG warranty, I would encourage you to contact them and get a replacement for it.
