it would be a hippa violation if it is someone from a doctor's office or hospital or other medical facility who had access to your records. it is not a hippa violation if this is a person not in a medical profession who got the information from another source. in other words, if this is a friend whom you revealed medical information to or if a person who got your informaton from another source other than a private medical record there is no violation.
