Hello,
Welcome to Just Answer and thanks for your question. I'm sorry they didn't explain to you that Tamiflu doesn't cure flu, it only lessens the severity and duration of the symptoms. No medication will work in just 24 hours. Taking antibiotics or antivirals is like putting the brakes on in your car. Although you slam on the brakes (take the medication), the car (the infection) will continue for quite a long distance before coming to a stop. Tamiflu just stops it faster and you don't hit your head on the steering wheel. You can take acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) to help with the fever and pain. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids since you will be losing a lot of water in the sweating portion of the hot-cold cycles.
