Right side or passenger side,
I have pryed and used a brass hammer.
Tks
Sometimes if you pull on it hard with two hands you can get it out otherwise you will need to use a punch and try a larger hammer. Here are instructions, let me know if you have questions. Thanks
Dan,
Sorry for the delay, had to keep a previous commitment.
I have a fairly large hammer already. How hard should I be hitting it?
And if too hard what can I damage?
Is it necessary to remove the bolts from the center support?
Tks,
Don
Are you on today?
I am going to Accept you because you were patient and you did another thing that I appreciate. You sent a diagram of the axle assy.
It is not quite as detailed to my vehicle as I would have liked but it gave me a little better confidence of what I was doing.
I am an Aircraft mechanic so I like detail and manuals to reference.
Please acknowledge if you are still avialable I will accept and if you don't mind I have a couple more questions regarding seals and oil for this project.
I am still available if you have any other questions. Here is anotherdiagram incase its helps a little more, let me know if you have questions. Thanks
Can we still talk once I accept or does it end the contact?

Now I am having a difficult time getting the axle to go past the circlip and "seat".
Do I just keep pounding? What can I damage inside the CV Boots?
Well, I pounded and pounded and it seemed to finally get started past the clip. But it doesn't look like it seated all the way.
Should there be any "play" in the right axle, left to right?
I now have the hub on and everything reinstalled and all looks good at least the hub, brakes, strut and tie rod connections. Still not confident about the "seating" of the inside of the right shaft.
It said to drain the transaxle oil. I did not do this and the only oil that leaked was a little trans oil out of the left side.
Not a drop out of the right.
Now I will finish with the left side. And give it a text drive.
I hope I did everything correctly.
It's my daughters car and she heads back to school on Sat. Hate to have her stranded.
Thanks,
Ok it's done, and no left over parts or hardware...
It was dark when I finished so I just took a short test drive. I did loose about a half quart of trans fluid when I replaced the left axle so I will top it off and check for leaks in the morning.
I'm still not sure of the finished product until I get to do a good and lengthy test run.
I was also told that after I changed the axles I would have to have a front end alignment.
Do you know if that is true?
I can't think of anything that I did that would have impacted the alignment and I was trying to keep the costs down. But I guess if it keeps things trued up longer it will save a little rubber.
Thanks for your help,
Ya, you are suppose to get an allignement because when you remove the ball joint it throws it off a little but it may be such a small amount it doesnt even matter. Let me know if you have questions, thanks.
