Question

I have Microsoft Outlook 2007 and my email account is through gmail. I get an error message "Failed to Update Headers." I have tried the SCNPST file to fix it and I have tried recresting the account to see if there was a problem when it was updated from 2003 to 2007. I tried this once before and did not get an answer. I am hoping that there is someone out there that can help me. Brent

Answer

May be a corrupt message inside of Gmail/Outlook. I would recommend clearing out some of your old message on Gmail, and then creating a new outlook profile.

Is there a way to determine what messages may be corrupt or do I just have to guess?

Answer

Try this first... Please take a look at the Microsoft Support Document listed below. Download, and run this hotfix, and see if this fixes your issue. If not, go ahead with my original answer. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968858

It didn't unzip. There was an error.

How do I do the other items that you recommended?

Accepted Answer

There are two options: 1) Create a new folder in GMail, and then move all items to that folder. Create a new Outlook profile with IMAP, then download your messages. 2) Create a new outlook profile with IMAP, download all of your messages from the server (this will archive everything), then delete them from the server. If these two dont fix the issue, I would run Microsoft Windows Update, and apply all patches.
