Canon i860 printer has error message 5100. Stopped printing entirely after one excellent print, then printing only in yellow and black, then only b & w. New ink for all colors. Have recently cleaned heads several times. Could ink well be full?

Already Tried:
Nothing since it stopped printing in color. I have spent my time trying to figure what error 5100 is on the web with no result.

Accepted Answer

Error 5100 means that the waste ink absorber is full. Clean the absorber and then reset the counter by doing the following.

1. hold RESUME then press & hold POWER
2. release RESUME, then press it twice, the light should go amber then green again.
3. you're now in service mode (you can release POWER now)
4. Press RESUME 4 times
5. Press POWER once
