Question

2006 Scion xA. Something is stopping the car from getting power from the battery. Had to jump the car last week - put water in the battery. Ran fine for 6 days. Had to rejump after left door open for 3 minutes. Today had to jump after driving 10 miles and stopping for short time. Car died on incline, passer by stated that all he did was adjust the cables. Car started right up. Am familiar with reset button on box connected to battery.

It sounds like you might have bad battery cables. First I would have the battery tested just to make sure it is good, next I would check the alternator to make sure it is working properly and supplying enough power for the car and to charge the battery. Check and make sure the battery posts are properly connected and tight on the battery, and their is not corrosion on the battery posts causing a poor connection. If the battery is good, and their is good output at the alternator, and the connection at the battery is good you may have a bad battery cable using up power and not allowing the battery to charge

Battery posts are properly connected and tight - no corrosion. What purpose is the blue reset button and the electronic looking components that are connected to one of the battery posts.
