First, you are correct that an unclaimed debt from a credit card agreement is well passed the statute of limitations at 8 years old. As such, they wouldn't have a case against you even if they did try to take the claim to court. You have two options,

(1) Retain an attorney to send the collection agency explaining that the debt collection effort is well past the statute of limitations, and that any future communication should be through their office.

(2) Contact the Attorney General for the State of Pennsylvannia, consumer protection unit HERE. By being vague with you and continuing to harrass you, they have likely violated state law governing debt collection practices (Title 73, Chapter 42 the Pennsylvannia state code).
