Question

I had acute pancreatitis a year ago. Now I was having chronic pancreatitis but I stopped eating anything refined/not organic. Now that has gone away, but I have a constant pain in my gallbladder region, yellow stool everynow and again (dark pee at the same time), no appetite, no sex drive, nausea, weekness, itchy bumps on the back of my knees, and I've lost 40 pounds in 4 months (I quit my very physical job where I ate like a pig). I've been treating myself with Turmeric and Milk Thistle, and I feel better than I have in a while, but It seems I've plateaued and not getting better. I can't seem to get the Docs to take my gallbladder (micro sludge is an old family recipe I DON"T HAVE STONES) but to no avail. They all want to start testing from scratch everytime, my wallet can't take it anymore. What can I do?

Greetings.

You should get a HIDA scan. This shows the gall bladder functions. If the HIDA scan shows non-functioning gall bladder, it would warrant for removal and that way convincing evidence for the surgeon also for cholecystectomy.

I've had a hida scan (I think)? I've had the die test, it took 4 hours for the die to pass through (they said it should take 45 minutes) and they said it was fine. I've also had an utlra sound, no stones, no luck.

Answer

Hello,

In an HIDA scan a radioactive tracer is injected in the vein. If there is very low accumulation in the gall bladder, it is called as poorly functioning gall bladder and it also warrants removal. Please read the resource;

Thanks. I didn't want to have to start all this again (no offense but I've built up a quiet hatred for most doctors)...but I see its my only option in this country of God forsaken health care. I might go to Europe instead. It will be cheaper and I'll get results on this...for the first time out of 10 doctors.
