Hello,

How long has this been going on?

When was the last time she ate?

What did she eat?

She hasn't eaten for two days. The last thing she ate was some pork from a pork chop. She won't come out of her crate for the last day and a half

Info Request

Hello,

Did she eat any of the bone on the pork chop?

When was the last time she had a bowel movement?

Was it loose, or any blood in it?

There was no bone on the pork chop. Her last bowl movement was Monday and loose. No blood. She did throw up yesterday.

Accepted Answer

Hi,

At this point I would be concerned about a blockage from the pork she ate. The symptoms point toward this condition. Sometimes some meats are hard for small dogs such as the chihuahua to process. Also sometimes little bits of gristle is in the pork chop which can cause the problem as well. Though the meat alone can do this.

The animal usually becomes dehydrated and full of painful gas and fluid that accumulates in the digestive tract, unable to move through and out of the pet's body. In the worst-case scenario, the foreign body can completely obstruct the animal's digestive tract and even puncture the intestinal wall.

She will need to see the vet asap. This is a emergency situation and can result in death if not treated quickly.
