Question

I have a 2002 Saturn LWseries. When I am driving it seems to run fine. But when I am at a stop light , especially a long time, it runs rough and there have been times that it "hiccupped" on me. The first time it did that, I thought I had gotten tapped from the back. It doesn't do it all the time, just maybe 4 times in a month. I had one mechanic tell me I maybe should have the fuel injection system cleaned out...I thought maybe a tune up.

mulitple issues with the spark, fuel or even a dirty throtle can cause this condition, keep it simple and start by checking the fuel delivery, if you have access to a fuel prssure gauge, test that, clean the throtle body uncostly repair, then a tune while it may not fix this issue if the engine has not been tuned up it would help including the fuel injectors cleaning. Also make sure the you don't have and trouble codes in the ecm, that you tell

a lot and save you from costly unneeded repairs. good luck.

Okay, I am going out of town next week Orlando, to Savannah, Ga. should I get my car a tune up before then and have them test the fuel pressure and clean the throttle body, or just do the tune up for now and see what happens?

I would definitely clean the throttle body, check the fuel pressure and volume, the tune up

may help specailly if the engine has'nt had a tune up, good luck
