hi i have 2001 sea doo jet ski with 2 stroke engine, problem is starts up ok and idles ok but when you give throttle to take off it boggs down and no power what so ever. i owned a boat with 150 mercury outboard before and it did similar simptom when oil light came on then cutts down to idle condition, never found out what was the problem on it, any idea?

Hello. This is a carbureted motor, right? Most likely your problem is a clog in your carbureter, probably caused by ethanol in the gas - this is very common now. The ethanol combines chemically with moisture/water and forms a gummy solid that blocks internal passages and jets in the carb. When you try to accelerate, the fuel can't get through and you bog down. The solution is to disassemble and internally clean the carb.

No, those are found on EFI motors where the computer controls everything. When it's carbureted it usually has the nice simple mechanical systems.
