You will need to give the dog metmucil, the usual dose is 1 to 5 g per pound (2 to 10 g//kg) every 12 to 24 hours. This will help encase the screw and cause less damage. Put it on top of a food your dog will normally eat. You can also feed a few slices of buttered bread (This will help encase the screw as well and the butter will help for coating and ease it out)You will need to keep a close eye on the stools for the next few days to make sure this passes as well. Typically this will make its way out in 2-5 days but if you do not see anything within a week, or you notice blood in the stool, loose stools, vomiting or drooling then she will need to be seen.
