Question
I have a Fleetwood 2009 Excursion 40x. There are 2 heat pumps and 1 a/c only. The a/c only unit is located in the bedroom. Seems like to me one of the heat pumps should be in the bedroom since there is very little gas heat in that area. Can anyone advise?

Hi: Thanks for coming to Just Answer with your question. My name is Randall and perhaps I can assist you with this. Did you mean that you have 2 furnaces or heat pump units? Most Fleetwood products have 2 LP furnaces. Please clarify this and I will see if I can answer your question. All the best, R.J.

I have 2 Lp furnaces, 2 rooftop a/c heat pumps and 1 a/c only rooftop. The a/c only rooftop is located over the bedroom. Thanks

So you have 4 heating sources altogether. Do you know the make and models of the Lp units? That would seem to be more than plenty. Is the problem that you feel the bedroom is not getting warm enough? Let me know. R.J.

I would like to know the if the bedroom is supposed to have one of the heat pumps. the bedroom does get cold because the sensor for the lp furnace is located in the living area and the bedroom only has one small outlet for this furnace.

Well, I can't really speak to the "supposed to" issue....they don't always do the same things for the same models, but this would be pretty strange if this were the only one like this. The wiring for the heat pumps and controls would be different than just the A/C unit. Having the thermostat for the heater out in another area isn't a great idea, I agree with you there. There would be several "fixes" for this. One is to move the t-stat into the bedroom. This shouldn't be that huge a problem depending on the location of the furnace. There should be more than one duct for that unit. Where do the others go? If it is a 30K unit, it should have at least 3 ducts. You cound perhaps swap the locations of the AC and the heat pump. I don't know what units you have so I can't speak to the wiring. The 120 VAC feeds should be adequate. Do these heat pumps have a single control or on the ceiling mount. This could be changed as well and might be easier. You can use a variety of controls on each unit. Ceiling mounts have all the controls and thermostat on the unit so you don't have any wiring issues. Do you have a manual for these units and the furnaces? Get me some info and I can probably narrow this down for you further. All the best, R.J.
