I am a 61 year old. I became paralised from leg cramp last night, and on friday night last. I COULD NOT MOVE MY BODEY, OR LIMBS, FOR A PERIOD AFTERWARDS. SOILD MYSELF ECT., PAIN IN BACK OF LEGS ALL DAY!.I am on 46 unitsof "Mixtard 30 Penfill Insulen" morning and evening, a total of 92 units per day.I AM SO SCARED OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN THAT I DO NOT WANT TO SLEEP!! You should check your metabolic profiles like serum sodium, potassium, magnesium etc.
Metabolic imbalance may occur with diabetes mellitus and even though you are on insulin, it is possible. You should also check your blood sugar level.
But everything may be fine and you may be simply having 'charley horse' due to dehydration.
Please consult your endocrinologist or GP if it happens again.
