Question

Good Morning. When I start up my Acer laptop 5051, I login as normal, then it doesn't go through the usual routine. A blue screen appears and Windows Explorer is loaded, there are no icons on the desktop just a blue screen. I can run programs if I select the .exe file for each application from it's relevant folder in C:\Program Files. There appears to be a problem with the boot routine/start up routine. Can you please advise? Regards, XXXX XXXXXX

Answer

Hi,

I think the windows explorer is crashed. may be because of some virus or something.. try this

Press CTRL+ALT+DEL now goto the file->new task and type explorer.exe and click ok

check whether you are getting the desktop or not ?

Thanks

Thank you that has worked and restored the desktop. However, when I re-start it reverts to the original problem. Is there a way of fixing this permanently?

Accepted Answer

HI,

That’s great.. this is because some virus or something has corrupted your exploere file. I think still some virus are there.. download the Spybot search and destroy from this link and install it

http://download.cnet.com/Spybot-Search-amp-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html

After that do a complete scan.It will remove all the viruses.

If you have the problem still, then you can do a repair of the operating system using the windows CD
