Indiana

public ?...not sure of the difference in this state

Hoosier Park Racing and Casino...privately owned...open to the public

Unfortunately, Indiana does not have any laws requiring that an employer provide access to an employee's file with the company, so long as the company is privately owned. Some states, such as your neighbor Illinois, do provide for such rights, but Indiana does not. Consequently, in Indiana you do not have a right to view what is in your employer's file about you. It is certainly possible that they will grant a request to view the file, but they are not obligated to.
