My 22 year old son was denied a public defender today in Atlanta for a DUI charge. He cannot afford an attorney. (Average cost being ~$1200 for representation.) He overstated his earnings and said he makes $200 - $300 bi-weekly. What can he do?

Next time he is in court, he can explain the error to the Judge and ask to fill out the application again. Have him bring in pay stubs, to show the mistake. As long as it was reasonable, the court could appoint the services of the PD.
