My ABS light just came on in my 1997 Ford Explorer, my brakes are fine. What is causing this?

As you can see there are several different components that could be at fault. I would suggest having the vehicle's ABS module scanned for codes and once the code is retrieved referr to the chart above to identify the fault. Most likely it is the rear axle speed sensor as these are the usual culprit at about 80% of the time.
