I just installed a new Canon MP 980 printer. I used to work with an HP. However, I cannot convince Mozilla Thunderbird or Firefox for that matter to make this the Canon the default. It is in the list of printers but keeps going to the HP which is no longer a part of the system, uninstalled. Help! Tom

Hi,

Just go to Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes, right-click on the listing for your Canon printer, and select 'Set as default printer', and you should be all set.

Hi: Thanks for the info and the Canon was set as the default printer but still when going to the Print mode it wants to go to the HP printer. I have uninstalled the HP but in the Control Panel it still shows and will not allow itself to be removed so that it then still appears in the Canon listing of printers as well. I know this sounds ridiculous but it is the way it is and I am stumped!
