H1N1 is contagious 24 hours before you get symptoms and up to 7 days from onset of symptoms. It can be little longer in children and in people who have a weak immunity.
Unless it is imperitive that you see your Father, I would wait atleast a week to see if you start coming down with symptoms, only because your Father is immunocompromised and also, if you do happen to be coming down with the flu, you are contagious before you even exhibit true symptoms, so for this reason, yes, I would wait and see him a little later. You have been exposed and I would not take any chances with your Father's health.
