Question

I am having problems with Norton. The program is saying that the protection updates are at risk. The one button check up is saying that the virus protection is out of date. I have been running daily updates and the results are saying that my sytem is secure but the warning signs are not changing. I tried running the diagnostic under Help and Support but it reaches a point and the program is not responding

Answer

Hi,
Does it still say Protection Updates are still "At Risk"? I have a problem like this with Windows Automatic Update, which I am un-happy with, even though it says from the Control Panel that it is Set to Automatic. You should be fine if it says on LiveUpdate that your system is up-to-date, and there is nothing to worry about. There is one Solution, though: Un-install Norton Internet Security 2008 via Norton Removal Tool (http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039) and then re-installing N.I.S.; that should solve your problem and, if it does not, then also there is nothing to worry at all.

Does this also apply to the one button check up that states that the virus protection is out of date

Do you get this warning from Norton or anyother program?

The home page for Norton says the virus updates are secure. The warning showed up in the one button check up and a box pops up in the lower right corner of the screen saying the virus updates are out of date.

Accepted Answer

Yes the information you are viewing on the Norton page is about there updates they are telling you that there updates are secure and the warning you are getting from the program in your pc becasue the program is not up to date please run a update and then shcek the issue but if have updated the program and still getting the issue then also do not worry because norton has problem regarding the updates if sometimes warn you when you are updated program.
