Hi there
Typically, your symptoms you are describing are those associated with what is termed "Peripheral Neuropathy". I will refer to Peripheral Neuropathy at "PN". PN can have many causes, as PN is usually secondary to another disease process. Things like Diabetes, use of alcohol, vitamin/mineral deficiency, shingles, certain medications, inherited diseases, kidney or thyroid disease, herniated disk in the back, and autoimmune diseases.
If you are having problems in which your feet feel swollen but are not actually swollen, this also could be a problem with the valves in the veins of your feet and legs. Peripheral Artery Disease.
Needless to say, your symptoms should not be ignored. I would seek out the second opinion of an Orthopedist or even a Neurologist (if you haven't already) and see if they can run some test on your lower back to see if lumbar spine involvement is to blame and then some other test can be ordered to rule out things one by one.
I have heard that some patients get relief from alternative medicine (via accupunture) but before you do this, I would find out exactly what is going on. You might end up doing more harm than good (and also would end up going without knowing exactly what is going on in your body in the meantime).
Hope this helps, reply back if needed.
