Yes check engine light is on the dealership did not give me the codes said they pointed to the Cat Converter, When it started up it ran great on the highway it just feels like it wants to go faster I usually do about 70 MPH with the Cruise on, No complaints running.

Okay, do you still have the codes they gave you?

That is one problem they did not give me the codes

Answer

Okay. If you can get the codes that will help. Most auto parts stores will scan the computer for free and give them to you. Typically the converter will not cause the vehicle not to start and not cause any other driveability problems. This is typically a bad crank position sensor on this vehicle.

OK That is the same conclusion that I came to, I have not worked on cars for years, But the Dealership wanted to replace the cat Converter ,I knoe enough that if the car is not loosen power while driving that that was no way even through it could be going bad.

Accepted Answer

Yes, this is why the converter is not the likely solution. If you can still get me the codes I can let you know what else may be going on.
