Question

I have an HP Pavilion dv7 -1245dx, and the speakers do not work, but the volume is on, the system is running correctly, the headphones work OK, when I play a song in the media player I can see that everything is OK, but any sound came out from the speakers. Also, the speakers icon on the control pad doesn't respond when I touch it. What can I do?

I'd already check if the sound card is working, and when I do a speakers test wearing the headphones it runs OK, but still no sound came out from the speakers.

Accepted Answer

Hi,

If the headphones are working and the speakers are not, then likely the internal speakers have blown out. This is fairly common on laptops as the internal speakers are low powered and cheap. This can be replaced by HP fairly inexpensively.
