i am 59.i had a hystorectomy at 40 due to fibroids, one ovarie removed. the remaining overie gave up ovulating when i was 54. i went through menapause without hrt. recently went to doctors with vaginal dryness where i was prescribed ovestin cream. i have used it for a month but i now have back ache and stomach pains reminisant of period pains. ihave had these for about a week also breast tenderness and nausia. could this be due to ovestin? jj porsmouth

The most common side effect reported with ovestin use is mild vaginal burning upon application. This sensation typically goes away after the first day or two of treatment.
I do not think that your symptoms are due to the cream.
You should rather check your gall badder and kidneys considering the nausea, stomach and back pain.
Regarding the breast tenderness could be due to costochondritis.
