Question

My 9 year old cocker spaniel mix woke up with a few strange symptoms. His eyes are leaking a light green mucus, and he has a small bump on the outter corner of his left eye. Other than that, he seems fine. Any ideas?

Hi,

The green discharge from both eyes indicate infection, so your dog will need to be evaluated by a vet in person, to diagnose and treat the problem. This may be caused by a sinus infection, also. The small lump on the outer corner of his left eye may be from an insect sting or spider bite, or he may have banged into something, accidentally.

The vet will prescribe antibiotic drops and/or ointment for your dog's eyes, and if you have never administered these before, here are some helpful instructions:
