Answer

Hello. Thanks for writing in. I am concerned that he has a bloated stomach, a twisted stomach, a twisted spleen or fluid in his abdomen. The round hard shape may be a herniation. It depends on where it is located. It may be related to some type of trauma. Either way, it sounds like he needs to get veterinary attention immeidately. I would get him to your nearest veterinary emergency clinic. He may have a respiratory issue or the labored breathing could be related to pain. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Hope this helps.

I think that he may have actually swallowed a tennis ball. Is it possible for him to pass it? The knot is on his left side in his stomach

Accepted Answer

If he swallowed a tennis ball, he will not be able to pass it. It is possible that he could have a gastrointestinal obstruction. This could be causing his signs, especially if the intestinal tract is perforated, causing a peritonitis (inflammation/infection in the abdominal cavity).
